Desert getaway...

For those that know us Hawaii is our happy place.  We go back every year - sometimes twice a year.  Since we just went to Oahu in May for a destination wedding and we were still in the middle of wedding season we decided to keep our anniversary celebration a bit more local and low key.  Palm Springs was the perfect getaway to really just do - nothing.   We stayed at Arrive Palm Springs and it is the hippest boutique hotel with poolside service with the cutest ice cream & shop(pe) and Customs Coffee shop onsite!  Their front desk is the bar, like, the actual bar.  Needless to say a welcome beverage is offered at check-in. There is no concierge here, but hospitality and customer service didn't fall short.   Just text them anything you need, even room service.  Oh so hip.

We found ourselves just wanting to dine on their poolside patio or at the pool...I mean why not?!  Their food is amazing.  The ceviche is a must and the portions were more than generous.

Grab a donut and organic Joshua Tree Coffee from Customs Coffee for a quick jump start to your day.

Or an ice cream cone or gelato to cool down at the ice cream & shop(pe).  Two scoops qualifies as breakfast in desert heat, right?

The triple digit heat was actually bearable with their lounge chairs and cabanas with misters on blast, and of course, fun floaties in the pool.

You can't get any more hip than an all marble ping pong table.  I mean, really?

Took advantage of the resort's complimentary cruiser bikes to sight-see the surrounding homes and landscape and enjoyed the desert sunset glow.

No trip to Palm Springs is complete without a visit to the Instagram famous @thatpinkdoor ( 1100 E Sierra Way, Palm Springs, CA 92264).  Do it for the gram!

Topped off our trip with a sunset hike at Joshua Tree National Park

Married to this guy for five years has been the best time of my life.  We are the best for each other and with each other.  We are inseparable and miss each other even when we are in different rooms in the house *insert barf emoji*.  Whoever said marriage isn't easy hasn't met us yet!

Cheers to forever my love!
